BACK OFF!

It’s that time of year.  As the days start to get warmer, the clothes start to get lighter and you begin to think about replenishing your spring wardrobe.  I know I’ve already started getting the shopping itch!

So with that in mind, I’ve been on the lookout for some items to buy, when I noticed the backs of shirts being cut out.  I'm loving this look; move over halter-tops!  Whether in a geometric pattern, frayed material, or just plain cut out, there’s something for everyone.  Let’s keep it classy though.  Wear at least a bandeau and there’s nothing wrong with a tank top layered underneath for more coverage.  Layering is also a great way to wear your purchases sooner rather than later, especially when it might be too cold to go backless.

Days of Denim

Spring has (almost) sprung and so have our options for denim.  I am OBSESSED with the jeans that are out for the season.  Nothing boring here!  Great way to add some fun to your outfit.  The key to pulling it off is go simple and neutral with the rest of your outfit.

If you are more adventurous, try color blocking your outfit.  If you are on the shorter side, throw on some boots with a heel and if skinny jeans don’t necessarily flatter you, wear a longer top or switch over to the wide-legged jeans that are definitely on their way back in.

Also, I noticed cropped denim sneaking its way back into the mix, but I’d stay away.  I am all about when people roll their skinny jeans, but the cropped denim sends my brain straight to the days of Capri’s and I’m just not ready to go backso they are a DON’T!

FORECASTING: I want to see more graphic print denim, such possibilities with this!

Go F Yourself

…with Feathers, Fur, and Fringe, that is!

I’m all about feathers, fur, and fringe.  I am definitely more eccentric and eclectic when it comes to what I like to wear.   At the moment, I’d describe my style as layered boho rock.  I wear what I like and I’m all about comfort, but you’ll never catch me out in sweatpants.

I actually wear all 3, the feathers, fur and fringe, at once.  And when thrown on with jeans, a t-shirt, hoodie and boots they just complete the look.  They’re a great way to stand out and add some flavor to any outfit.  Always chose in neutral colors and they will go with anything.

{Feathers} and not the extensions for your hair, like the colored strands you see at hair salons, leave them to KIDS ONLY!!!  I’m talking like feathers draped from a necklace or attached to a medicine bag.  If you wear a feather on a necklace, do NOT pair with the matching feather earrings.

{Fur} love me a fur vest.  And like the feathers, only one fur object at a time.  Fur vest with a fur hat with fur gloves will just make you look like a furry animal.  And the fur vest looks amazing under a leather jacket or a military jacket.  It looks like it is the lining of the jacket.  I wear it like this all the time.  It also keeps you very warm!

{Fringe} definitely on a purse as well as a necklace, even a vest or boots!  And the same goes as with the above, not all fringe pieces together, even if you were going to the rodeo.

MUST DO: The Cambridge Satchel Company

So I’ve wanted to get this blog started for a while now, but never knew what kind of a post to start with until I stumbled upon this amazing bag.  As the title of the blog implies, I will be suggesting what you should not wear/purchase/be better off without…but in today’s fashion world, how can one not want to discuss the amazing one of a kind items it has to offer.

Enter the Cambridge Satchel Company.  The bag I purchased caught the corner of my eye.  I mean how couldn’t it, it is bright neon pink!  How could I not buy this bag?!  And even better, it’s 100% leather, handmade in Britain, and only cost me $160.  It comes in a variety of different colors and sizes and being that it is a classic satchel, it will go with just about any outfit in any season.  The Metallic is my least favorite, but you cannot go wrong with any other colors.

Below is a picture from their website of the bag I purchased.  I'll upload a picture when I debut the bag myself.  Check the rest out here: The Cambridge Satchel Company.
